The Oyo State Government, represented by the Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, hosted a gathering of real estate investors and developers in Ibadan on Wednesday 15th May, 2024.
During the meeting, Mr. Akin-Funmilayo emphasized the importance of spreading development beyond Ibadan to other regions in Oyo State. He stressed the need for inclusive growth and sustainable development across the state, aligning with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision.
Mr. Akin-Funmilayo underscored the administration’s commitment to collaborating with investors to provide affordable housing solutions, industrial estate that will create direct and indirect job opportunities and enhance infrastructure across Oyo State.
He urged investors to demonstrate their financial viability, expertise, skilled personnels and commitment to urban and infrastructural development. The investors, hailing from various states such as Oyo, Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to deliver affordable housing options, industrial estate for Job and wealth creation for our youth and infrastructure improvements if given the chance to collaborate with the government.
In conclusion, the Commissioner assured the investors of collaboration pending approval from Governor Makinde, emphasizing the government’s readiness to engage in partnerships aimed at fostering sustainable development and addressing the state’s housing, estate deficit he said.
