Suspected Gunmen have kidnapped a staff of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owo, Ondo State, Pastor Ayodeji Akesinro.
According to reports, the victim was whisked away from his residence in Upenme, Owo Local Council Area by the armed men, who stormed his residence at about 7:00 pm on Thursday after which he was taken to unknown destination.
The National Union of Allied Health Professionals, NUAHP, confirmed the development, adding that it has been reported to security agencies, who have commenced investigations.
The union, in a message circulated to members, hinted at a potential declaration of a day of protest in Owo to demand the immediate and safe release of their colleague.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal in his reaction said the Police Command in collaboration with local hunters are on the trail of the suspects in order to rescue the victim.
