The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde has made it clear that he has no objections to the Sharia Law in the state, as long as it aligns with the Nigerian Constitution.
Governor Makinde who stated this while hosting Muslim faithful to Iftar at the Presidential Lodge of the Government House, Agodi Ibadan, also pledged his support for any alternative conflict resolution mechanisms that adhere to the country’s constitutional framework.
The number one man in the state who reiterated his position on the Sharia Panel recently established in the state, dispelled rumors that he opposed its creation, noting that the panel will serve as an alternative conflict resolution mechanism, helping to reduce the workload of the judiciary.
