How Chelsea Beat Manchester United 4-3: Full Anaysis
Chelsea had a strong start and were up 2-0 in less than 20 minutes. Malo Gusto’s cross hit Varane and luckily fell to Gallagher. The Chelsea captain nailed it and it went right through Andre Onana’s hands.
The Blues were given a penalty when Antony clumsily brought down Cucurella. Palmer waited for Onana to make a move and then scored his seventh penalty of the season in the right corner.
But, like we’ve seen so many times this season, Chelsea let another lead slip away. Caicedo’s mistake was terrible and it let Garnacho equalize. The Man Utd winger effortlessly grabbed his squared pass and smoothly finished it past Djorde Petrovic.
Five minutes later, and Man Utd had equalized. Dalot whipped in a brilliant cross from the right, and Fernandes was wide open at the back post to score with a header.
But the drama didn’t stop there. Chelsea got a penalty in the 98th minute with Palmer once again sending Onana the wrong way to secure what looked to be a point for the Blues.
In the last minute, Chelsea’s effort against Man Utd paid off. Palmer’s dangerous shot off McTominay sent Stamford Bridge into celebration.
