Former Oyo Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Yinka Oladimeji Resigns from PDP
The former Caretaker Chairman of Irepodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Oladimeji Yinka Kamardeen, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon. Oladimeji, who hails from Ward 8 in Ibadan North Local Government Area, announced his resignation in a personally signed statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
In the statement, he expressed gratitude for the opportunities he enjoyed during his time in the party, noting that serving as Caretaker Chairman of Irepodun LCDA, Agodi Gate, Ibadan North, was one of the most significant chapters of his political career.
“I am writing to formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect. As a bona fide member of this esteemed party, it is indeed heartbreaking for me to make this decision,” he stated.
Hon. Oladimeji cited the current trajectory of the party as the reason for his exit, stressing that it has drifted away from the foundational principles upon which it was built.
“With a heavy heart, I resign from the PDP to find an alternative platform that truly aligns with the people’s ideology. I wish the party and its leadership all the best in the future,” he added.
He further disclosed plans to engage his political supporters across all wards in Ibadan North for a realignment after the August 16th by-election.
