What Atiku Told Buhari About Tinubu, 2027 Election, By Source
The visit of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to former President Muhammadu Buhari has given rise to controversy and concern within the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
On Tuesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated that it was not intimidated by the recent visits of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and prominent northern politicians to former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The individual visit, regarded as a Sallah homage, has been met with various responses.
The PAPERS reports that former Senator Shehu Sani, who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, on Monday suggested that the former president’s visits to his hometown of Daura in Katsina State may be part of a larger strategy to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
According to sources within the People’s Democratic Party, the visit is politically motivated and is related to the 2027 election.
“The Nigerian population is currently experiencing significant challenges, and it is evident that a considerable number of individuals who previously supported the APC are now reconsidering their stance. This underscores Atiku’s need to explore alternative avenues and re-engage with the political landscape.” “Atiku is undoubtedly contesting the 2027 election, and there is no obstacle to this. I must inform you that this is part of the recent maneuvers,” the source told The PAPERS.
Furthermore, the source disclosed that the northern elders are discontented with the prevailing administration’s policies and are prepared to support any candidate in the 2027 elections.
“A considerable number of individuals have expressed discontent with the current administration’s policies. “Northerners are eager for a change in leadership and are willing to support any candidate,” he concluded.
Buhari relinquished his authority to Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, who amassed 8,794,726 votes to defeat Abubakar, who garnered 6,984,520 votes.
