As there are concerns that the domain of GTBank, one of Nigeria’s major financial institutions, may have been compromised by suspected cybercriminals, Firstbank of Nigeria has sent an important notice to her customers against hackers.
This was revealed in a mail forwarded to customers by the bank.
It reads, “Here are some useful tips to protect your account and stay safe while transacting online:
“Verify the authenticity of emails, texts and login pages.
“Be cautious when downloading apps or providing payment information.
“Don’t click on suspicious links or provide sensitive information.
“Enable transaction notifications and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
“Keep your devices and software up to date.
“Only interact with merchants through official channels.
“Monitor your accounts regularly for suspicious activity and necessary reporting.
“Be cyber aware and take the necessary precautions to stay safe while transacting online.
