As the colorful and spiritually significant Egungun 2025 Celebration lit up the ancient town of Fiditi, former House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. Olaleye Olusegun Thomas extended heartfelt greetings to the Onifiditi of Fiditi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Akanni Oyelere, and all custodians of tradition.
Hon. Olaleye, a Canada-based technocrat and community advocate, paid glowing tribute to the cultural custodians, including the Alagbaa of Fiditi, Chief Alapini, and High Chief Agbaakin of Fiditi, acknowledging their unrelenting efforts in preserving and promoting the rich Yoruba cultural heritage through the sacred Egungun tradition.
He also saluted the Onifiditi-in-Council, all sons and daughters of Fiditi both at home and in the diaspora, for their continued support and unity in keeping the town’s customs alive.
Egalitarian voice affirmed Olaleye Olusegun, who aspired to represent Oyo Federal Constituency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, emphasized the significance of cultural celebrations like the Egungun Festival in fostering identity, unity, and intergenerational pride among the Yoruba people.
