The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Education, has officially opened the application portal for the ₦50 Million Student Ventures Capital Grant, a strategic initiative designed to empower young innovators, boost student-led entrepreneurship, and strengthen Nigeria’s knowledge-driven economy.

The grant, targeted at students in tertiary institutions across the country, aims to support the creation, growth, and scaling of viable business ideas capable of solving real-world problems while generating employment opportunities. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs and ensuring that Nigerian students are well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Speaking on the launch, the Honourable Minister of Education reaffirmed that the initiative is part of a broader plan to promote innovation, skills development, and economic inclusion among youths. “We are building an ecosystem where students are not just job seekers but job creators,” the Minister said.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be students of any accredited Nigerian tertiary institution.
- Business ideas must be innovative, feasible, and capable of creating social or economic impact.
- Applicants may apply individually or as a team.
- Startups at idea, early stage, or growth stage are welcome to apply.
