Governments have been advised to address the pressing security issues and improve infrastructure across the nation as they are critical to fostering economic growth.
Economic Consultant, Mr. Tunji Adepeju, and a Finance Consultant, Mr Abiola Ali, gave the advice while speaking on the BCOS breakfast TV Current Affairs Programme AM 120.
Speaking on “ World Bank Report- matters arising’’ , an economic consultant , Mr. Tunji Adepeju, highlighted the dangers of depending solely on imports, which could destabilize both foreign and local currencies.
He also stressed that the governments should encourage people to go into production and support individuals that are passionate about farming to ensure food availability.
Also speaking on the programme, a Finance Consultant, Mr Abiola Ali, advised authorities to encourage local production and ensure that systems operate effectively to create jobs.
Both experts stated that security of lives and properties as well as formulation of government policies are essential to improving Nigeria’s economy and ensuring food security for all.
