El-Rufai’s Latest Remark about Tinubu Sparks Frenzy Across Media Space
“I was governor of Kaduna State and one of Bola Tinubu’s strongest campaigners, yet I couldn’t deliver Kaduna to him. Even Tinubu himself couldn’t win his own state despite having his governor in place. So, these things are not as straightforward as people assume.
If anyone chooses self-delusion, that’s their business. I won’t reveal our full strategy, but I can tell you clearly: in the 2027 elections, the worst-case scenario is a runoff—and Bola Tinubu will not be on that ballot. At best, he will place third. He has no viable pathway to victory. I’ve done the maths, I’ve done the analysis—it’s simply not there.
But he can continue deceiving himself, thinking, “I have money, I have INEC, I have the police, I have the army.” Well, President Tinubu, go and invite ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for a chat. Ask him if he didn’t also have all these in 2015—and yet we removed him. Is the situation similar today? It’s worse.
People say Tinubu has never lost an election. That’s debatable. Yes, he’s called a strategist and all that, but just wait.
If he truly wants to learn some lessons, let him sit with ex-President Jonathan over coffee and ask what really happened in 2015. That’s all.”
