The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina also known as’Shaba’ has again made another history as street traders and hawkers are about to be moved to newly established neighbourhood market, GSM OMITUNTUN NEIGHBOURHOOD MARKET at Tioya , Ona Ara Local Government, Oyo State.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the market , the Otun Balogun Olubadan, His Royal Majesty, Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola lauded the initiative of the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon Musibau Adesina Sanusi, aka ‘Shaba’ for his numerous landmark development projects, in the Local Government. He noted that the proposed GSM OMITUNTUN NEIGHBOURHOOD MARKET will go a long way in boosting economic and commercial activities in the Local Government.

In his address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sanusi described the creation of the market is, among other objectives, aimed at protecting the lives of street traders and hawkers from the hazards of motor accidents, loss of goods and others.
The Council Boss however implored the traders to take congnisance of their environment. He adds that the open stalls when completed is for the benefits of the people of Ona Ara Local Government. While promising the more social amenities apart from two blocks of 3 units toilets with bathroom and deep well constructed by his administration, installation of solar lights among others. Describing it as part of his electioneering campaigns of good governance.
Hon. Shaba lauded the Pace Setter Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for the monumental, which has been emulated by his humble self in the administration of Ona Ara Local Government.
The Head of Local Government Administration, Dr. Adedapo Atoyebi appreciates the initiative of the Chairman and urged the traders to maintain a clean and hygienic environment whenever the market is put into a functional use, as the Council will not hesitate to impose appropriate sanction on polluters of the environment.
In their separate addresses, The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor,.Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi and People Democratic Party Chairman in Ona Ara Local Government, Hon. Bakare Mosobalaje commended the Chairman for all the projects both completed and ongoing. They stated that Hon. Shaba has written his name in indelible gold for his giant strides in the Local Government. They consequently prayed for the success of the present administration in the Council.
Responding, the Babaloja of GSM OMITUNTUN NEIGHBOURHOOD MARKET, Alh. Olaniyi also commended the Chairman for this laudable project and pledges their support and cooperation in the development of Ona Ara Local Government. The traders all showered the encomium on the Chairman, describing him as a friend of the masses.
