The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, successfully hosted youths and indigenes from across the state to the Inauguration Ceremony of its newly elected State Executives and the 33 Local Government Coordinators, alongside a Youth Leadership Lecture Series and Heroes Award Programme.

The well-attended event took place at the House of Chiefs, Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Ibadan, and marked a defining moment in the chapter’s commitment to youth leadership, unity, and purposeful engagement, EGALITARIAN VOICE reports.
The occasion represented a significant milestone in the collective effort to raise a new generation of responsible leaders dedicated to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Activities at the event included impactful youth leadership sessions, strategic networking, and a prestigious award ceremony. A major highlight was the conferment of Grand Patron on His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Bashir Olalekan Abioye Siyanbola (IV), the Onigbeti of Igbeti Kingdom, in recognition of his support for youth development and leadership advancement.

In his remarks, the royal father expressed deep appreciation to the NYC Oyo State Chapter for the honour, while commending the organization for its consistent efforts in empowering youths and promoting positive civic engagement.
The National President of the Nigerian Youth Congress was ably represented at the event by the National Vice President, Comrade Ogunsola Ezekiel Gbenga, who charged youths to actively participate in leadership programmes and embrace responsibility as future leaders. “You must be present in every leadership space that prepares you for tomorrow,” he urged.

The formal inauguration of the newly elected executives was presided over by Prince (Hon.) Falana Adebowale Adebayo, Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, who encouraged the leadership to remain committed to inclusive governance and youth-focused initiatives.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Barr. Beulah Adeoye presented an inspiring and thought-provoking address on youth leadership and development, emphasizing discipline, vision, and service as essential pillars of effective leadership. He was also honoured with an Award of Excellence for his contributions to youth advancement.
Other dignitaries at the event included Chief Otunba Niyi Adekola (Chairman, ONA Foundation), Amb. Yekeen Lukman Olanrewaju (Oyo State Commandant, Man O’ War), Chief Muda Dayo Ogunsola, among several other prominent personalities who graced the occasion.

The inauguration ceremony and leadership programme further reinforced the Nigerian Youth Congress, Oyo State Chapter’s resolve to nurture responsible leadership, inspire unity, and create meaningful opportunities for young people across the state.
