As the world marks International Children’s Day, the Chairman of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Abdulfatai Adeyemi, popularly known as Legacy, has issued a heartfelt message celebrating the children of Oyo State and calling for renewed focus on their development and well-being.
In a statement made available to the press by Comrade Akinlabi Segun, Director of Media and Publicity, Comr. Adeyemi described the day as a time to recognize and honor the immense potential within every child, and the critical responsibility of both parents and society to guide and support them.
“As we commemorate International Children’s Day, we take a moment to celebrate the vibrant, curious, and bright minds shaping the future of our great state. This day reminds us of the importance of nurturing, protecting, and empowering our children to grow into capable, compassionate, and innovative leaders,” he stated.

The NYC Chairman extended warm wishes to all children in Oyo State and beyond, encouraging them to dream big and believe in their limitless potential. He also urged them to be good ambassadors of their families and communities. “May your dreams be big, your imagination be wild, and your potential be limitless,” he added.
Comr. Adeyemi further called on parents and guardians to embrace their roles as mentors and role models, noting that children’s development is shaped both by direct instruction and the examples set before them. “Children learn from what they see, so let us model the behavior and values we wish to see in them. They thrive in supportive environments, so let us create spaces that foster growth, creativity, and well-being,” he urged.
He also stressed the importance of collective responsibility, noting that investing in children’s education, health, and development is essential for a brighter future for all. “Together, we can build a brighter future for our children, and in doing so, secure a stronger tomorrow for our state and our nation,” he concluded.

The message ended with a unifying wish for joy and hope for all children on this special occasion. “Once again, Happy International Children’s Day to all the young ones in Oyo State. May this day be a celebration of your potential, your promise, and your place in the world.”
