Cement War Ends? Rabiu Exposes Behind-The-Scenes Agreement With Tinubu And Dangote
BUA Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has disclosed that cement manufacturers in Nigeria have agreed to maintain current cement prices for projects under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Naija News, this move is designed to bolster the President’s national development drive.
Rabiu made the announcement following a meeting with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Thursday. He explained that the decision was a collaborative gesture by cement producers to support the success of the administration’s infrastructure goals.
He said, “Alhaji Aliko Dangote of Dangote Cement approached me, and I agreed that we should fully support Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. We have therefore resolved to freeze the price of cement for contractors involved in these projects.”
“This means any company executing a project under the Renewed Hope initiative will buy cement at a fixed price, with no increases foreseeable. This is our own way of contributing to the President’s vision,” Rabiu added.
He praised Dangote for initiating the proposal and confirmed that formal communication would be sent to the Ministry in the coming week.
Rabiu also applauded the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, for promoting the use of concrete in road construction, noting that “concrete roads are more durable and ultimately more cost-effective than bitumen.”
