In a daring operation, the Oyo State Amotekun Corps successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued a 27-year-old woman, Mrs. Muinat Monsuru, in Oje Owode, Saki East Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on Friday morning December 20, 2024, when a group of seven kidnappers stormed the residence of Alhaji Monsuru, abducting his wife. The kidnappers demanded an undisclosed ransom from the family.
However, the Amotekun Forest Rangers from Saki East and Atisbo local governments received a distress call and swiftly responded to the situation. The operatives tracked the kidnappers to their hideout and engaged them in a fierce battle.
During the exchange of gunfire, one of the kidnappers was neutralized, while the others fled into the forest. The Amotekun operatives rescued Mrs. Monsuru unhurt and recovered several items from the kidnappers, including a double-barreled gun, cartridges, phones, and other personal belongings.
