Ona-Ara Local Government witness a new political power stir on Monday 22nd January, 2024 as Hon Fatai Olapade become the vice chairman of the Council. In accordance with constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), the Leader of the House in Ona-Ara local government was today sworn in as the substantive Vice Chairman of the Council who will serve as POLITICAL HEAD following the demise of Hon Kunle Balogun who was the vice chairman until his death in late 2023.
Continuing, one of the serving Councilor from Ward 11 Hon. Isiaq Adekunle Moruff was also swear-in as the new Leader of the House of Legislative to replace Hon Fatai Olapade who was the former Leader of the House for Ona-Ara Legislative Arm.
In his remarks at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Council Hon Musibau Adesina Sanusi (SHABA) congratulated Hon Olapade on this new role and pledged to support him in all ways.
“I welcome my dear brother into the Executive arm of government, am looking forward to working with him to continue to deliver good governance in Ona-Ara local government, Oyo State”, Hon SHABA stated.
Dignitaries at the Swearing-in Ceremony including, Dr. Atoyebi O.A Ona-Ara Head Of Local Government Administration (H.L.G.A), PDP Ona Ara local Govt Party Chairman Hon Mosobalaje Bakare, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi and a prominent PDP leader in the Local Government, Chief Waheed Adurodekun, all the Honorable Councilors, Chief of Staff, Hon. Ayodele Falana, Supervisory Councilors, tDirector of Administration and General Services, Mrs Adekunle M.O, Director of Education & Social Services, Alhaja Akande Adenike as well as the Director of Works, Engr. Waheed Awodele, Market Leaders, among others.
