A Former governor of Bayelsa state, Nestor Binabo, is dead. His son, Binabo Momos, announced the sad development on Thursday.
“I thought you’ll pull through, Dad. But God knows best”, Momos said in a post on social media, Egalitarian Voice reports.
Another source, close to the ex-governor’s family, said Nestor, who had been battling with an ailment over a year, died in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, at about 4.00 am on Thursday, 29th of June.
The Nigeria politician and former classroom teacher, briefly served as the acting governor between 27th January, 2012 to 14th February, 2012.
He also served as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Until his death, Binabo K. Nestor was a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
