Moves to halt the forthcoming National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have crumbled, as the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday, November 10, 2025, sustained its earlier order clearing the party to proceed with the event as scheduled for Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Presiding Judge, Justice A. L. Akintola, reaffirmed the subsisting order directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to attend, monitor, and/or observe the Elective National Convention of the PDP pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice before the court.
The court equally upheld its directive to the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), and the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) to ensure the smooth conduct of the National Convention as earlier scheduled.
With today’s ruling, the coast is now clear for the PDP to hold its Elective National Convention where new National Officers are expected to be elected to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
