Breaking: Bishop Of Jebba, Wife And Driver Regain Freedom From The Abductors
The Bishop of Jebba Diocese (Anglican Communion), Rt Reverend Adeyinka Aderogba, his wife, Oreofe, and driver have regained freedom from the abductors.
The freedom came barely 48hours after they were kidnapped along Oyo-Ogbomoso road while returning to Jebba from an assignment in Ogun State.
The Police Public Relation Officers (PPRO), Oyo State chapter, Adewale Osifeso confirmed the development yesterday in a statement.
The Nation reports that Osifeso, however, did not say if any ransom was paid before their release.
He attributed the release to the massive deployment of police personnel whom he said dominated the entire area and presurred the abductors to free the victim’s.
He added that the victims were released unhurt around 6:20pm
A source close to the family of abducted cleric also confirmed the release, adding that the victims were immediately taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention after their release.
The Bishop of Omu Aran Diocese, Rt. Rev. Festus Sobanke and the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Venerable Paul Dajur also confirmed the release of the cleric as truth.
