In a stirring message filled with defiance, reflection, and hope, Hon Bolanle Aminat Sarumi-A.A affectionately known as BASA addressed her critics, recounted her rise in politics, and delivered a powerful call to action for a better Nigeria.
She revealed this during an interview with a journalist on Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025. She also announced that her official 2025 Democracy Day Speech will be released on Thursday, June 12, via her Instagram and TikTok pages.
Her statement reads:
Still, I rise. Still, I lead.
“To the leader I once looked up to before the 2023 general elections — you underestimated my strength, tried to dim my light, and silence my rise. But the God who never sleeps was watching. While you plotted my fall, He prepared my table. You thought it was the end, but it was only the beginning.
I didn’t give up — I grew stronger. I rose from the sidelines and, in 2023, formed a coalition of all PDP aspirants and some candidates across Nigeria. Today, I proudly lead as the National Chairperson of thousands of Politicians.
To you reading this — never give up the fight for a better Nigeria. Come into politics. Contest, support, or aspire. When God says it’s your turn, no force can stop your victory — whether at the polls or through those you uplift. And when you win, don’t stop there — serve. Improve your community. That is how we will build the Nigeria we all dream of.
