BASA Urges Resilience Amid Economic Challenges, Calls for Government Accountability  

 

Honourable Bolanle Aminat Sarumi, popularly known as BASA, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and courageous despite the gloomy economic outlook that has persisted over the past year under the current government. Speaking candidly, BASA highlighted the significant economic hardships that have plagued the nation, emphasizing that there is little to celebrate as the government’s efforts have fallen short in uplifting the people’s economic conditions.

BASA compared the current economic situation unfavourably to the Structural Adjustment Program (SAP) era of the military, a period widely regarded as one of the most challenging in Nigeria’s economic history. She expressed deep concern over the deteriorating living standards and increased impoverishment faced by many Nigerians.

In her address, BASA urged the president to listen to the people’s cries and develop policies that would genuinely improve their welfare.
