Former Vice President and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has sparked conversations on social media after sharing a heartwarming reunion with his primary school classmates.
In a post accompanied by a photo of himself with his former schoolmates, Atiku reminisced about his days at Jada Primary School. He wrote:
“My recent trip to Jada was yet another opportunity to reconnect with some of my classmates at Jada Primary School. From (Left) Alh. Bello Shuaibu, Alh. Sama’ila Jauro, myself and Alh. Dahiru Bobbo.”
While the moment evoked nostalgia and admiration, Atiku’s camp also seized the opportunity to throw a veiled jab at President Bola Tinubu amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Tinubu’s academic records.
Abdul Rasheeth, Atiku’s special adviser on Media, remarked, “It is quite improbable that you will find yourself devoid of classmates, coursemates, or family members—unless your existence is steeped in secrecy and deception.”
Rasheeth further emphasized the significance of the reunion, describing it as a celebration of community and connection. He noted, “The gathering at Jada Primary School was filled with laughter and shared memories, underscoring the importance of authentic relationships.”
The post has since ignited discussions on social media, with many applauding Atiku for highlighting the value of shared history, while others viewed the comments as a provocative swipe at the presidency.
