A video of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar giving strategic advice to the APC-led Federal Government on how to combat insecurity has resurfaced online, stirring renewed debate after Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), made similar remarks in his recent message to the nation.

In the resurfaced footage, Atiku had urged the government to adopt an intelligence-based and people-centered approach to national security. He emphasized the need to address poverty, unemployment, and social inequality as underlying factors fueling insurgency and violent crimes. The former Vice President also called for improved inter-agency collaboration and regional partnerships to ensure effective security operations across the country.

At the time of his statement, Atiku’s advice was dismissed and ridiculed by some supporters of the ruling party, who accused him of politicizing national security issues.

However, in a turn of events, Pastor Adeboye’s recent appeal to the same government carries a strikingly similar message — calling for sincerity, unity of purpose, and decisive leadership in tackling the country’s persistent security crises.
