….Call for Abstracts and Online Registration
The Association of Statistics Students of Nigeria (ASSON–National), in collaboration with the American Statistical Association (ASA), has announced the commencement of activities for the 2025 National Statistics Students Virtual Conference.
Themed “Student Statisticians as Change Agents in the Digital Age,” the conference is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (WAT), and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EST, US).
According to the organisers, the event is designed to showcase the innovative capacity of student statisticians, as well as their role in shaping the digital future through research, data application, and policy-relevant insights.
Highlighting the conference is a keynote address to be delivered by the President of the ASA, Dr. Ji-Hyun Lee. Other activities include research and poster presentations, networking opportunities, and recognition awards.

Abstract submissions opened on August 27, 2025 and will close on September 26, 2025, while registration remains free and accessible to all undergraduate students nationwide through Instats.org. Submissions are to be forwarded to conference.assonnational@gmail.com.

The association urged statistics students across the country to take advantage of the platform, describing it as a golden opportunity to connect, learn, and lead in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
