Armed Robbers Kill Ibadan Journalist in Daylight Attack, Oyo NUJ Mourns

Ojo, a former reporter with Parrot Extra and later Daily Monitor, was attacked on August 18, 2025, by armed robbers who targeted him for the cross bag he carried. Eyewitnesses said the journalist pleaded that the bag contained no money, but he was shot in the back before being dispossessed.
His younger brother, Enahoro Peter, confirmed the development, noting that the police at Orita Challenge Division contacted the family after recovering Ojo’s damaged phone at the scene. “He left home healthy and never returned. He was simply struggling to make ends meet,” he said.
The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) announced his death on September 7, sparking widespread mourning in the media community.
