The Alaawe of Awe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Cornelius Abiola Taiwo Oladokun, has hailed the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for the reactivation of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs after more than a decade of inactivity.
His Royal Majesty described the governor’s action as a bold, historic, and visionary step that reflects deep respect for traditional institutions and a strong commitment to inclusive governance, cultural preservation, and grassroots development across Oyo State.

According to the Alaawe of Awe, the reactivation of the Council will strengthen traditional governance structures, foster unity among royal institutions, and enhance collaboration between the government and custodians of culture in the collective pursuit of peace, stability, and sustainable development in the state.

The monarch further hailed Governor Makinde for the introduction of a rotational chairmanship system for the Council, describing it as a clear demonstration of fairness, equity, and recognition of the diverse traditional institutions that make up Oyo State.
In the same vein, the Alaawe of Awe congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on his appointment as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.
