AGM MEMBERS CALL ON PDP LEADERS TO HASTEN REBUILDING PROCESS SAYS NIGERIANS NEED PDP IN A TIME LIKE THIS
Monday the 16th day of October 2023 the Governor of Enugu state His Excellency Dr. Peter Mba hosted the south east meeting of the People’s Democratic Party in Enugu. According to Governor Mba :
“providence has placed a lot on us in the history of the PDP that we now have to steer the affairs of the party and take it back to its former glory — to that preeminent position we have always held in the historical and political developments of this country.
“And in doing that we have a couple of areas we have to look into such as financial, administrative, and operational strategies to bring us back to preeminence.
“So, it is time for us to begin to craft a strategy on how we can get back to that pole position that we had always occupied.
“It means we have to, first of all, consolidate our support base as a party and go on to now reach out to our brothers and sisters who may have felt aggrieved for one reason or the other and left the party to see how we can bring them back.”
Reacting to the resolutions of the meeting the south east Director of the Aticulated Global Movement (AGM) Hon. Ugwu Cyril Uchenna called on the Leadership of the People’s Democractic Party (PDP) to hasten efforts in rebuilding the party. According Hon. Ugwu the process should start internally by addressing issues with the Aspirants in the just concluded 2023 party primary election which angered members to move to other political parties to pursue their political ambition. The party should also revisits it’s constitution and ensure strict compliance to abate future election crisis.
Recall that the Atikulated Global Movement (AGM) which comprises over 5,000 Aspirants/candidates who contested and who won/lost elections under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election was formed to chat a new course for the Aspirants, rekindle their zeal to continue to pursue their ambition, reunite the Aspirants and engage them meaningfully as leaders in their respective political constituencies of the PDP, and finally unveil them as useful tools to the socio-economic problems of Nigeria.
The AGM ably led by Hon. (Mrs) Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu GCMW/VHPP Politically addressed as BASA thereafter, mobilized under the AGM to work and deliver our candidates (PDP candidates) from top to bottom state by state. From our Presidential candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, Waziri Adamawa and his vice-presidential candidate, H.E Sen.Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to the PDP Gubernatorial Candidates, the national assembly candidates, and those of the states houses of assembly.
And today we make bold to say that despite the poor treatment of these Aspirants by our great Party the (PDP) after the primary election in their various states, Same Aspirants saved our party from the polls. Because of them our party was able to produce 13 Governors, 33 senators, 55 house of Rep. Members and many state house of assembly members and still counting.
It’s therefore very important that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and all the elected political office holders on the platform of the PDP recognized this fact . For example since the end of the 2023 general election the state executives of the People’s Democratic Party lost their grip on the party. It’s the Aspirants from the various states of the federation that still holds the party (PDP) together through their structures in the various wards and they are still demonstrating more commitment to the People’s Democratic Party and in their determination they are convinced that the party (PDP) will be great again.
