A key PDP Youth Stakeholder in Oyo State, Aare Alao Olalekan, has described the defection of former Deputy Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and his followers from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “a major political gain and a strong statement of confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership.”

Speaking exclusively with Egalitarian Voice, Aare Alao said Adekanmbi’s decision to join the PDP marks “one of the most strategic political realignments in Ona-Ara and Oyo State at large.”
According to him, Adekanmbi’s defection goes beyond politics, representing a deliberate endorsement of Governor Makinde’s governance style, reforms, and people-centered approach to leadership.

“Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi is not just an ordinary political figure; he is a technocrat with deep administrative experience. His coming into the PDP is a reinforcement of credibility, competence, and strength. This is indeed a big catch for the party,” Aare Alao told Egalitarian Voice.

He noted that Governor Makinde’s performance has continued to attract influential leaders and professionals into the PDP, adding that the party is becoming the natural choice for individuals who prioritise development and transparency.
“Governor Makinde has built a brand of governance that speaks for itself. Adekanmbi’s move shows that those who truly understand governance and public finance know exactly where progress is happening,” he added.
Aare Alao further stated that the PDP in Ona-Ara is entering a new phase of political consolidation, stressing that Adekanmbi’s presence will reshape mobilisation, strategy, and confidence ahead of future elections.
He affirmed that the PDP remains the home of stability, youth inclusion, and progressive politics in Oyo State.
