The Director General Youth Mobilisation for Governor Seyi Makinde’s re-election bid, Hon. Dr. Salami Ibraheem Oladeji (DIKKO) has stated that Irepo LGA will vote massively for People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He also said that party faithfuls, youths, students, religion leaders, pensioners and teachers, among others, would not fail in coming out came out en masse to ensure they bring back performing governor.
According to Hon. Salami, Seyi Makinde has urged religious leaders in Kishi town to mobilize their members en-mass to vote for his re-election and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming 2023 general election for continuous and sustainable development of the town.
Gov. Seyi Makinde made the plea on Monday during the PDP campaign rally and engagement tour with the members of CAN and league of Imams.
In the words of the Governor: “the People’s Democratic Party is standing a chance to win convincingly in the upcoming election with the inclusion of a former APC Chieftain, J.S Amodu into the PDP folds as well as picking their son, Barrister Abdul-raheem Adeleke Bayo Lawal as my running mate.”
“it is only in Irepo Local Government that I lost with 600 votes, but today, I and J.S Amodu are in the same party as one,” the governor said.
“We fought last time such that he told me that I will lose in the local government unless I pick a son of the soil as a running mate, and today, I am running with Barrister Bayo Lawal and we are both in the same party.
“I want you to come out en mass and vote for Hon. Akinwole Akinwale as Senator, Hon. Hussaini Yusuf Ijabah as House of Representatives and Hon. Qozeem Olayanju who is seeking a re-election into the state House of Assembly.”
Speaking further, the governor stated that education was in a state of comatose before his assumption to office in 2019, but today students are no longer paying education levy and his administration has been able to return over 50,000 children back to their classrooms as well as making available of notebooks and text books which he promised during the 2019 campaign as well compendiums in their final exams.
“On issue of security, we have been able to achieve a lot such that Oyo State is having the highest number of Amotekun of over 1,500 personnel throughout the Southwest”.
He added that the expansion of the state’s economy, the healthcare system, road linkages across the Oke-ogun all underwent significant efforts in Omituntun 1.0.
According to Hon. Dikko Salami who made his speech after the campaign, Gov. Makinde’s administration will continue to be fair to all the citizens of Oyo State and he deserves second term in office.
