Tragedy! Bandits Intercept Vehicle, Kill All Passengers Returning From Govt Recruitment Screening

Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked a vehicle conveying passengers returning from Sokoto city along the road to Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing all occupants on board.
The exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed as of press time.
According to conflict reporter Bakatsine who covers insecurity in North-West Nigeria, the victims were among the 3,000 people recently recruited by the Sokoto State Government who had been invited to Sokoto city for screening and collection of their appointment documents.
The victims were said to be on their way back home after the exercise when their vehicle was intercepted and attacked.

Bakatsine, who disclosed the incident on Wednesday, also shared photographs of some of the deceased, though their identities are yet to be officially established.
The attack has sparked fresh concerns over the safety of travellers on the Sokoto-Isa axis, a corridor notorious for bandit activities in recent months.

As of the time of filing this report, the Sokoto State Government and security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
