ADC Oyo Governorship Primary: A Call for Unity, Hope and Preparation for a People-Centered Government
Following the conclusion of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship primary election in Oyo State, it has become evident from the authentic and verifiable results available across the majority of local government areas that Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka emerged as the clear winner of the exercise. Available records indicate that he secured an unassailable lead based on valid votes cast in the duly conducted primary election, reflecting the genuine choice of ADC members across the state.
We remain confident that the facts, figures and democratic principles guiding the process will ultimately be upheld and that the rightful outcome will be recognized and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It is noteworthy that concerns have been raised regarding irregularities surrounding some result sheets and the collation process in certain local government areas.
Nevertheless, the overwhelming margin recorded from authenticated results demonstrates the strength of the mandate freely given to Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka by party members. We trust that all relevant party and electoral institutions will ensure fairness, transparency and justice in accordance with the law and the principles of internal democracy.
At this critical moment, we call on all ADC members, stakeholders and supporters across Oyo State to remain calm, united and focused on the greater objective of building a better future for our people. The strength of our party lies in our commitment to democratic values, inclusiveness and collective progress. This is not a time for division but a time to consolidate our shared vision for a prosperous Oyo State.
We also encourage the good people of Oyo State to begin preparing for a new era of responsive leadership, economic growth, youth empowerment, quality education, improved healthcare and infrastructure development. Under the leadership of Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, we envision a government that serves all citizens fairly, prioritizes development across every zone of the state and delivers the dividends of democracy to every community. Together, we will build an Oyo State that works for everyone.
