School Abduction: Oyo NUT Backs Monday Protest, Demands Immediate Release of Teachers, Students

I, Comrade Hassan Ajibola Fatai the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers Oyo state wing hereby informed you that the state leadership of our Union supports the planned peaceful protest. In view of this, all branch trustees are hereby to advised to participate actively in *the proposed protest and strike action on Monday 1, June 2026* . We fully understand the concerns, emotions and frustrations surrounding the current situation especially regarding our colleagues and students who are still in captivities. The Union calls on the Nigeria police force, other security agencies, the OYO STATE GOVERNMENT and *NIGERIA PRESIDENT* to work together and take decisive steps toward securing the immediate and safe release of all abducted teachers and school children
