The emotional plight of the abducted students and teachers from Community High School in Oyo State has continued to spark outrage and heartbreak across Nigeria, with popular social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), expressing deep frustration over the government’s handling of the crisis.
His reaction came after a disturbing new video surfaced online showing some of the victims pleading for help and appealing directly to government authorities to secure their release before it is too late.

Speaking during a live session that has since gone viral on social media, VeryDarkMan said he could no longer bear watching the heartbreaking videos of the captives, adding that if the government fails to secure their freedom within the next few days, concerned Nigerians may be forced to take matters into their own hands.
According to him:
“If in the next four days the federal government is not able to bring these people out, we’ll have no other option than to raise money and get them out.”
The activist said the pain and helplessness visible in the victims’ faces have become too difficult to ignore, especially as family members continue to live in fear and uncertainty.
“I can’t bear to watch their videos anymore. I am aware there might be implications for this action; however, I am ready to pay the ultimate price to get those children back to their parents and those teachers back to their families.”
VDM further stated that saving innocent lives should take precedence over political arguments or public criticism, stressing that desperate situations sometimes require desperate measures.
“We’ll be the ones to negotiate with them. I don’t care what people will say. ‘Oh, you’re supporting terrorism.’ I don’t care. As far as those children and teachers are free, that is what matters to me.”
His remarks have generated intense debate online, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy for the victims and agreeing that more urgent action is needed to secure their release. Others, however, warned that negotiating directly with kidnappers could encourage future abductions and undermine ongoing security efforts.
The crisis has continued to attract nationwide attention following repeated appeals from the abducted victims and their families. In one of the latest videos released by the captors, the school’s principal reportedly pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and relevant authorities to intervene quickly, claiming the abductors were becoming increasingly impatient.

As public anxiety grows, many Nigerians are now demanding faster and more decisive action from security agencies, insisting that the safe return of the students and teachers must remain the top priority.
For the families waiting anxiously for news of their loved ones, every passing day brings fresh fear and uncertainty. And as emotional reactions continue to pour in across the country, the fate of the abducted victims remains one of the most talked-about and heartbreaking issues in Nigeria today.
