2027 Presidency: Fresh Political Permutations Emerge as Prominent Yoruba Spiritual Leader Sends Strong Message to Atiku

Founder of the One Love Family and renowned spiritual leader, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has cautioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against contesting the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the South should be allowed to complete what he described as its constitutionally and morally justified eight-year tenure in office.
In a statement dated May 21, 2026, Maharaj Ji argued that any attempt by Atiku or other northern politicians to join the 2027 presidential race could undermine the existing North–South political understanding in Nigeria.
According to him, the same patience, cooperation, and political support the North enjoyed during the eight-year administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari should equally be extended to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“The South must be allowed to complete its eight-year duration in Aso Rock just like the North did during the immediate past Buhari administration,” Maharaj Ji stated.
He stressed that northern political leaders should respect the rotational arrangement that has continued to shape Nigeria’s democratic and political stability in recent years.
The spiritual leader further called on the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) and other influential northern stakeholders to prevail on Atiku Abubakar and other northern presidential hopefuls to reconsider their ambitions ahead of the 2027 election.
According to him, such a move would help strengthen national unity, reduce political tension, and sustain mutual trust among the country’s major regions.

Maharaj Ji also expressed concern over what he described as the silence of key northern political elites regarding Atiku’s alleged 2027 ambition, warning that continued political agitation could further heat up the nation’s political atmosphere.
