The Governor-elect of the Oyo State Chapter of the Association of Tutorial Schools Operators (ATSO), Mr. Oladipupo Olalekan, popularly known as Intellectuals, has urged the Oyo State Government to extend the start time of school assemblies in rural areas from 7:55 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Speaking on a call-in radio program in Ibadan, Mr. Oladipupo explained, “Many students in rural areas walk several kilometres, often leaving home as early as 6:00 a.m., a time of low visibility and heightened insecurity. No student should be required to leave home before 7:00 a.m. Even with the distance, such students can comfortably arrive at school before 9:00 a.m.”
