Nigeria marks her 65th Independence Anniversary, Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi, popularly known as BASA, founder of the BASA Foundation and a committed humanitarian, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
BASA described the celebration as a moment of reflection and gratitude, reminding citizens of the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers who fought for freedom, unity, and dignity. She noted that true independence goes beyond the lowering of colonial flags; it is about building a nation where equity, fairness, and justice are the foundation of governance and daily life.
She urged Nigerians to remain united despite the challenges confronting the nation, stressing that progress and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, inclusiveness, and collective responsibility.
Hon. Sarumi further called on leaders at all levels to place national interest above personal gains, ensuring that the hopes and aspirations of ordinary Nigerians are met with sincerity and compassion.
She prayed for the continued peace, prosperity, and stability of Nigeria, while encouraging every citizen to play their part in nurturing the nation toward greatness.
