PNM Condemns El-Rufai’s Malicious and Unguided Statements
The attention of the Patriotism Now Movement (PNM) has been drawn to the recent reckless and unguided remarks credited to former Governor of Kaduna State and former Minister of the Federal Republic, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
Speaking on behalf of the Movement, the President of PNM, Patriotic Olalere Benedict Adetunji, described El-Rufai’s utterances as malicious, politically motivated, and unbecoming of an elder statesman who once occupied sensitive positions of leadership in this country.
According to him, “The outburst of El-Rufai is nothing but a political gimmick intended to score cheap points. As a former Governor whose tenure was marred by deep divisions, incessant crises, and avoidable killings in Kaduna State, he lacks the moral standing to cast aspersions on the current administration or attempt to undermine the peace and unity of our dear country.”
PNM strongly believes that patriotism demands restraint, responsibility, and sincerity from all Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation or personal ambition. Careless statements that fuel disunity and breed bitterness must be avoided, especially by those who once held high offices and should know better.
For Nigeria to achieve greatness, leaders and citizens alike must rise above political sentiments and embrace a collective spirit of patriotism. The Patriotism Now Movement will not condone any divisive or unpatriotic pronouncements against the interest of the nation.
Nigeria’s progress, stability, and prosperity remain the foremost priority of PNM. We therefore call on all well-meaning Nigerians to shun negative narratives and join hands in building a stronger, more united, and greater Nigeria.
