In a recent video on Facebook, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has delivered a prophetic warning to former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi. According to the outspoken cleric, Obi’s presidential ambition may remain unfulfilled unless he humbles himself and takes a strategic political step—serving as Vice President.
Speaking during a recent church service, Primate Ayodele said, “Peter Obi, if you don’t do Vice President, you will not be President.” The cleric emphasized that spiritual insight and political wisdom must work together, especially for someone who aspires to lead a complex nation like Nigeria.
Ayodele, who is known for making daring political prophecies, urged Obi to reconsider his current political trajectory and seek meaningful alliances rather than going solo in the next election cycle. “It’s not about popularity alone,” he added. “Politics is about structure, sacrifice, and divine timing.”
The statement has sparked conversations among political observers, particularly those who believe Obi’s influence among the youth and urban electorate is growing, yet may not be enough to secure a national victory without forming stronger coalitions.
“This may be hard for Obi’s supporters to hear, but Ayodele is saying what many political analysts have noted—Labour Party needs a wider alliance,” a political analyst commented.

Ayodele’s remarks come amid growing speculation about possible realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. While Peter Obi has not publicly responded to the prophecy, his recent statements have suggested that he remains focused on the presidency and is not currently considering any number-two role.

Still, Primate Ayodele insists that strategic humility could be the key to Obi’s eventual success. “He needs to listen to divine instruction. You can serve as Vice President today and become President tomorrow.”
