…Board reaffirms support for Governor Makinde, demands formal apology from Vice Chairman Mogaji Oladosu, and warns against further attempts to undermine leadership through the media.
The Board of the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Service (PTS) has reaffirmed its unanimous support for its Chairman, Hon. Dr. Ibraheem Oladeji Salami Dikko, while pledging continued alignment with the progressive policies of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
This follows a special board meeting held on Thursday evening.
In a statement issued after the meeting on Thursday, June 19, 2025, the board categorically distanced itself from claims suggesting disunity among its members.
It reiterated a strong, unified commitment to the Chairman’s leadership and to the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Addressing recent controversies, the board unanimously resolved that the Vice Chairman, Mogaji Oladosu, must tender a formal apology to the board.
His recent actions and public remarks, according to the board, were unauthorized, inappropriate, and clearly driven by personal motives rather than the collective interest of the organization.
On matters related to staff retirement, the board clarified that all decisions were made in strict compliance with the organization’s Conditions of Service.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) was advised to refrain from undue interference and to direct any concerns through appropriate institutional channels.
Reaffirming its commitment to quality staffing, the board emphasized that the minimum academic qualification for administrative roles at PTS remains a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree.
The board also commended the leadership of Hon. Dr. Dikko, highlighting significant strides in enhancing internal controls, transparency, and operational efficiency, which have collectively helped reduce financial mismanagement within the organization.
Furthermore, the board lauded the Oyo State House of Assembly, particularly the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and the House Committee on Transport chaired by Hon. Adebayo Babajide, for their commitment to effective oversight.
It acknowledged the recent committee report on PTS and pledged full compliance with the House’s resolutions.
In a firm declaration, the board warned against any deliberate efforts to defame the organization or its leadership through media or online platforms.
It vowed to take appropriate legal action against any individual or group engaged in smear campaigns or unauthorized publications aimed at damaging PTS’s reputation.
Concluding the meeting, the board expressed its profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc., GSSRS.
The board credited the Governor’s unwavering support and visionary leadership as pivotal to the ongoing transformation of the state’s transport sector and the consistent progress of Pacesetter Transport Services.
