Five Confirmed De@d, Others Inj¥red In Billiri, Gombe As Truck Pl%ughs on Easter Celebrants
A devastating incident occurred on Monday in Billiri, Gombe State, where an articulated truck loaded with goods veered into a group of Easter celebrants, resulting in multiple f+talities and inj¥ries.
The tragic event unfolded along Tashan Gona as the group was returning from a mountain prayer gathering. Eyewitnesses reported that several individuals were k+lled instantly, with some victims reportedly cr+shed beyond recognition. Many others sustained varying degrees of inj\ries and were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
In the aftermath, tensions escalated as irate youths set the truck abl+ze. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and sought refuge at the Billiri police station. Most of the victims were said to be children and youths who had participated in the prayer gathering.

“We recorded an acc+d£nt at Billiri Local Government after a truck conveying goods from parts of Taraba lost control in Billiri. Five persons have been confirmed d+ad, while others who are inj¥red are undergoing treatment at different hospitals,” he told SaharaReporters.
