Egalitarian Voice Media reports that the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has announced a three-month extension of the N25,000 monthly wage award, from October to December, as a temporary measure until negotiations with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on the new minimum wage are concluded.
While celebrating World Teachers’ Day with Oyo State teachers, Governor Makinde assured state workers that his government will soon implement the new approved minimum wage.

According to the governor, negotiations with the NLC will commence next week, and the state has extended the wage award for another three months, pending the resolution of the negotiations.
This development demonstrates Governor Makinde’s commitment to supporting workers’ welfare in Oyo State.
