In fulfilling part of his electioneering campaign promises, the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina, popularly called SHABA, yesterday Friday 26th August, 2022, handed over working tools and raw materials worth millions of naira to non less than One hundred and thirty-five (135) beneficiaries, after the successful completion of their training, sponsored by the Chairman
The program, which was tagged:HON. SHABA 2022 EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES and nicknamed Rescue Mission for Survival, Comprises of Vocational Skills, Such as Nylon/Polythene Making, Adire/ Batik Production, Liquid Soaps Making and Graphic artist/Sign writing.
Over 60% of the participants were trained and equipped on Nylon/Polythene Making, while the remaining 40% were spread across other vocation.
In his speech, the council boss Hon Musibau Sanusi Adesina (Shaba) gave Glory to Almighty God for his Mercy and also appreciates Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde for his visionary leadership and support. According to the council boss, the initiative was borned out of his passion for the less privilege and the low income earners, most especially the women and youths, in other for them to stand on their own with profitable means of survival, as well to train others. He proceeded by saying, he personally detest seen people begging for alms. He appreciates the entire planning committee most especially the chairman,Hon Aransi Wasiu,who also doubled as Special Assistant to the chairman, for a job well done and for the success of the program. He also appreciates Engr. Dotun Sanusi Ilaji the host for his unflinching support and fatherly advice. He prayed that God continue to bless him.
He congratulated the successful participants and salute their courage and perseverance during the training exercise. He admonished them to make judicious use of the golden opportunity, which some people don’t have. He stated further that the empowerment initiative will be a sustainable one, as he will ensure continuity, especially in other skills not included.
Joy were seen on the faces of the beneficiaries as they expressed their profound gratitude to God, Hon. SHABA, the committee and their instructors for the gesture.
In the same vein, Hon. Shaba also gives free English textbooks of over 1000 copies to over 50 schools in Ona-Ara LGA, (Both Public and Private Schools.
The books titled: A GUIDEBOOK TO COMMON ENGLISH USAGE, Authored by a linguist , Ambassador Adedotun Tunde Adeniyi of Fresh FM Nigeria, nicknamed ( EEBO ISONU), but Powered by Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina, SHABA, the Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara LGA.
While presenting the books to schools on behalf of the council boss, Chief Bayo Oyero, an Elder stateman and a son of the soil who led other important personalities, appreciates the Executive Governor of Oyo State,Engr. Seyi Makinde for discovering Shaba, as well as opportunity given to him to serve and for his purposeful governance in the state.
He then showered encomiums on SHABA for his commitment to result oriented governance in Ona-Ara LGA, Chief Bayo Oyero enjoined him not to relent as he prayed for his success and that of his cabinet members.
