Oyo PDP Chieftain, Hon Oladipupo Olalekan affectionately known as INTELLECTUALS has hailed the just concluded local government elections in the state as a proof of Governor Seyi Makinde dedication to democracy.
Oladipupo in a statement said: “I am glad we witnessed the most democratically contested local government elections in oyo state since the inception of democracy.
“We witnessed different local government elections conducted in the past, but this seems different and better. The opposition parties participated diligently, electorates came out in their numbers, electoral officers were well composed and did their works diligently. Although, every elections must have one shortcoming or the other, depending on the view of every individual, but I am sure such individual, when to be base on overall performance, will still acknowledge the practice of democracy in this elections, unlike the ones conducted in the past.
“In conclusion, I say a big congratulations to every candidate across political parties and charge winners of the elections not to see it as their rights, but a call to duty by the electorates in respective territory.
I also appreciate the government of Governor Seyi Makinde for giving people of Oyo state such a democratically contested election”, Oladipupo concluded.
