The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has dismissed the petition filed by Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC against victory Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP affirming the decision of the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Egalitarian Voice Media reports.
The three-member panel chaired by Justice Tunde Awotoye, in unanimous decision held that Binani’s appeal lacks merit as its brief of argument is incompetent and fails to prove its case.

The court also held that the appeal is incomplete as it lack necessary documents essential for it to be heard and was totally abandoned by the appellant as it failed to prove substantial non-complaiance as alleged in the petition.

The Court awarded the cost of N500,000 against the appellant in favour of Fintiri and the PDP who are the 2nd and 3rd respondents respectively.
