The founder, BASA Foundation who is also the Chairperson of ATIKULATED GLOBAL MOVEMENT (AGM), Hon Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu GCMW/VHPP has described the death of Iyalode of Yorubaland Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson as a great loss to all the Yoruba Sons and Daughters and Nigeria at large.
Hon. Bola Sarumi stated this in a condolence message to the deceased family and all the market women in Yorubaland and made available to the newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State. She described Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson as an excellent woman of substance , a great teacher who always stood for truth and equity, and fought for equal rights for women in Nigeria.
BASA added that Mrs Alaba Lawson was a good adviser, an educationist, and very supportive of who she believes in. She believes greatly in the strength and qualities of women for leadership positions. “In my 2019 Governorship mission in Oyo State, Iyalode stood by me and took me to great people in this land and told them she would like them to support me as the first female Governor to be .She also drove all the way to Oyo town to take me to the Alaafin of Oyo.

Iwill never forget how generous and kind she was and very accommodating too. In politics we don’t get to see great women like her who would drop all and support a woman. She was dear to my heart like late Yeye Tina Ogundoyin. May both their souls continue to rest in peace,” BASA said.
Hon Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu fervently prayed to God to forgive her shortcomings and give her family and the people of Ogun State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. She will surely be missed.
Over the years, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson was a former national president of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, and the Iyalode of Yorubaland. Founder of the popular Alaba Lawson Group of Schools.
She was until her death the Iyalode of Egbaland and Chairman of Chairman Board of Trustees of ABEOCCIMA.
