As Nigeria clocks 65 years of independence, Hon. Olaleye Olusegun Thomas, fondly called SOT, a proud son of Afijio Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigerian-Canadian humanitarian, has extended warm greetings to Nigerians across the world.
SOT hailed the milestone as not just a celebration of freedom, but a call for renewal of patriotism, equity, and togetherness among citizens. He noted that Nigeria’s strength lies in her diversity and urged Nigerians to rise above divisions, embrace fairness, and work collectively for a brighter future.
While acknowledging the tough realities facing the nation, SOT encouraged citizens to remain resilient and hopeful, stressing that nations are built through unity, sacrifice, and a shared vision of progress.
He further appealed to leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of the people, deliver justice without bias, and place national interest above personal ambition.
Hon. Thomas also charged Nigerians in the diaspora to continue being worthy ambassadors of the nation and to invest in the growth and development of their homeland.
He prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity for Nigeria, expressing optimism that the country’s best days are still ahead.
