A major political realignment may be unfolding in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency as one of the frontline aspirants for the House of Representatives seat, Hon. Tosin Alabi, has openly thrown his weight behind Hon. (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji (OTOPE), a development already generating intense reactions across the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The move, widely seen as a strategic and unifying step, signals what many party faithful describe as the beginning of a broader coalition of progressive forces determined to secure victory and quality representation for the people of Egbeda and Ona-Ara.
Hon. Tosin Alabi, a prominent son of Egbeda Local Government and one of the notable aspirants in the race, said his decision to support OTOPE was informed by the larger interest of the constituency, political stability, and the urgent need to rally behind a candidate with tested capacity and widespread grassroots acceptance.

According to him, Hon. (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji has consistently demonstrated leadership beyond political rhetoric, citing his numerous humanitarian interventions, youth empowerment drives, educational support schemes, and sustained connection with the people at the grassroots.
He stressed that the journey towards 2027 should not be about personal ambition alone, but about building a united front capable of delivering purposeful representation and accelerated development to the federal constituency.
Political analysts within Oyo State believe Tosin Alabi’s endorsement could reshape the internal dynamics of the race, especially in Egbeda, where his influence and support base remain significant.
The endorsement is also being interpreted as a sign that key political actors are beginning to prioritise consensus, strength, and electability over division, a factor that may further boost OTOPE’s growing acceptability across wards in both Egbeda and Ona-Ara local governments.

Supporters of OTOPE have hailed the development as a major morale booster, noting that the support of a fellow aspirant reflects the confidence many stakeholders already repose in his leadership style, accessibility, and record of service.
OTOPE, who currently serves as the Oyo State Director-General, Liaison Office for Abuja and Lagos, has continued to gain traction in the constituency through his people-focused initiatives and visible presence in community affairs.
With 2027 still ahead, insiders say this latest endorsement may just be the first of several political alignments expected to shape the battle for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara House of Representatives seat.
