The tragic incident, which resulted in the loss of multiple young lives and left many injured, has sent shockwaves throughout the community.
Hon. (Dr.) Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, CEO of the Aderoju Ayoade Adekanmbi Foundation, said, “We are heartbroken by the loss of these young lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. This tragic incident serves as a painful reminder of the importance of prioritizing safety measures at public events.”
According to reports, the event organizer failed to involve the state government in the planning process, which may have contributed to the tragedy. The Aderoju Ayoade Adekanmbi Foundation is urging event organizers to prioritize safety and collaborate with relevant authorities to prevent such incidents in the future.
The foundation is also calling on the government to review and enforce stricter safety regulations for public events to ensure that such tragedies are avoided. “We stand in solidarity with the affected families and the people of Oyo State during this challenging time,” Dr. Adejoke added.
