Whether you’re planning to experience its pristine beaches, dive into its bustling markets, or pursue new business ventures, Equatorial Guinea offers a unique experience for every traveller.

However, to unlock this vibrant world, you’ll first need to secure a visa.

This guide provides a clear, step-by-step path through the visa process, ensuring that your journey to Equatorial Guinea begins with ease and confidence.

1. Determine the Visa Type

Identify the visa type based on your purpose of travel (tourist, business, transit, work, etc.). This affects the documentation and processing time.

2. Prepare Required Documents

Common documents required include:

  • A valid passport (with at least 6 months validity and two blank pages).
  • A completed visa application form.
  • Two passport-sized photos (meeting embassy requirements).
  • A flight itinerary or travel ticket.
  • Proof of accommodation in Equatorial Guinea (e.g., hotel booking or invitation letter).
  • Evidence of sufficient funds (e.g., bank statements).
  • Proof of yellow fever vaccination (mandatory for many travelers).
  • Additional documents based on your visa type (such as a business letter for business visas or a work permit for employment).

3. Contact the Embassy or Consulate

Contact the Equatorial Guinean embassy or consulate in your country or nearest to you (if there isn’t one locally). They’ll inform you about specific requirements, fees, and any recent changes in the process.

4. Complete the Visa Application Form

Download the form from the embassy website or obtain it in person. Fill it out accurately and ensure there are no blank sections.

5. Online Visa Application

Follow these steps to apply online:

Step 1: Visit https://equatorialguinea-evisa.com).

Step 2: Complete the online application with your travel details.

Step 3: Select your processing time and pay the $75 fee using a card, Venmo, or PayPal.

Step 4: Upload the required documents and submit the application.

Step 5: Once approved, your e-Visa will be emailed to you. Print or save a digital copy for when you arrive.

Make sure to keep both a digital and printed copy of the eVisa with you. Make sure all details on your eVisa match your passport, or you may be unable to board or enter Equatorial Guinea.

6. Pay the Visa Fee

Inquire about the visa fee and acceptable payment methods (some embassies accept cash only, while others might allow bank drafts or online payments). Keep your payment receipt as proof.

7. Submit the Application

Submit your completed application, passport, and all required documents to the embassy or consulate.

Some embassies may allow postal submission, but you’ll need to include a self-addressed, prepaid envelope for the return of your documents.

8. Attend an Interview (if required)

Certain embassies may require an in-person interview. Be prepared to answer questions about your travel purpose, plans, and financial means.

9. Wait for Processing

Visa processing can vary depending on the embassy and visa type, typically taking 1-2 weeks. Some consulates may offer expedited services.
